FAQs

How Does Teeth Whitening Work ?

You already know that teeth whitening works, but do you know how?

Stains on teeth can be classified in one of two ways: extrinsic or intrinsic. Extrinsic stains appear on the surface of your teeth and is mostly brushed off every time you brush your teeth.

Intrinsic stains live between the microcracks in your enamel and deep within your dentin (the layer of your tooth underneath your enamel). These stains are mostly accumulated gradually from your childhood and become darker as you grow into adulthood.
Whitening toothpastes and mouth rinses may be able to remove some of the extrinsic stains on your teeth. But only teeth whitening agents such as angelMax  can remove the stubborn extrinsic stains and the unsightly intrinsic stains that cause your teeth to look discolored.

angelMax gels contain an active whitening ingredient ( carbamide peroxide 44%)  that penetrates your enamel to get to discolored molecules inside your teeth.  Oxygen molecules from the whitening agents react with the discolored molecules in your teeth, breaking the bonds that hold them together. The oxygen molecules spread, whitening the entire tooth. As a result, you are left with a brighter, whiter smile.

Is this whitening going to be permanent?

For most people, the treatment will last for many years. Your teeth have become stained in the first place from years of consuming  foods and beverages and other factors. Upon the completion of your initial whitening process, your teeth are restored  to their natural white color. Exposure to foods, drinks (especially coffee, colas and red wines), smoking and other consumables will gradually darken teeth again over time. You may want to periodically whiten your teeth. After an initial treatment, most people do touch-ups about once every 6-12 months. All our products comes with enough gels for touch-ups so you don't have to worry about buying it again.

Is teeth whitening safe for everyone?

Teeth whitening is a safe, comfortable way to get a bright, white smile. Results and treatment time may vary depending on the level of staining and whiteness desired. Individual differences is also a factor on how white your teeth will become. angelMax   will whiten only your natural teeth. Artificial 'teeth' such as crowns, bridges, fillings, and veneers will not whiten. We recommend visiting your dentist if you have OVERLY SENSITIVE teeth, colitis, have recent oral surgery or other major oral health problems before attempting to use angelMax
Pregnant women are advised NOT to use our teeth whiteners until they deliver.

I used the whitening products, but few months later my teeth started returning to its previous color. What happened?

Most probably you consumed staining foods and drinks right after the whitening process.  According to the teeth whitening experts, the first 24-48 hours after teeth whitening is critical. After the whitening process, the pores or dental tubules on your teeth are open and they are very susceptible to staining. You should give your teeth a chance to recover before consuming food and beverages that may stain your teeth. Anything that stains your white shirt will stain your 'new' teeth. You may want to wait at least 36-48 hours to consume food or beverages that may stain teeth, such as coffee, tea, green tea, wine, etc. Maintenance with at-home trays is very important to keep up the whiteness.

What is angelMax Teeth Whitening process?

angelMax Teeth Whitening is actually a whitening process that lightens discolorations of tooth enamel even without the use of the LED light accelerator. Our basic system uses an effective whitening solution retained in 2 thermo-forming trays (1 upper arch, 1 lower arch) that are worn over your teeth for only 5 to 30 minutes per day until you have reached your desired level of whitening.  Our product is a strong  carbamide peroxide solution which allows the shorter period of time for results.  However, due to the high concentration of this product, we advise caution against sensitive teeth and gums.
